Understanding SPROUT

Definition of a city-led innovation and policy response

City-led innovation aims at empowering leaders (city authorities and policy-makers) to develop approaches in a way that is more effective and legitimate by placing people at the centre of the problem-solving process and enabling more active engagement of the stakeholders.

Understanding the main elements & sub-elements of innovative urban mobility ecosystem

The innovative urban mobility ecosystem was defined. The innovative urban mobility ecosystem consists of specific the main urban mobility elements and sub-elements that drive innovation and innovative policy planning. This video introduces this ecosystem and describes the different elements and sub-elements.

Tool instructional videos

The online Innovation Readiness Self-assessment tool

The innovative urban mobility ecosystem sub-elements which correspond to the innovation readiness of a city were identified. Innovation Readiness identifies if the city is capable and ready in deploying or enabling the deployment of mobility innovations. The specific video introduces the user to the online self-assessment innovation readiness tool that was developed for SPROUT, explains its functionality and gives insights about the outcomes.

The online Liveability Self-assessment tool

In the context of the H2020 SPROUT, the innovative urban mobility ecosystem sub-elements which correspond to the liveability of a city were identified. In order to efficiently guide cities toward innovation, it is important to understand the city's sustainability performance. Towards this aim, a self-assessment tool was developed for measuring the liveability of a city and identifying strengths and weak points. The specific video introduces the user to the online self-assessment liveability tool that was developed for SPROUT, explains its functionality and gives insights about the outcomes.

Capturing the dynamics of a mobility system under transition: A System Dynamics Tool

The system dynamics tool was developed in order to assess the dynamic effect of a policy measure/policy response to the urban mobility environment. The scope of this module is to assess the policy package that the city has selected to support the effectiveness of the measure and enhance its potential scale-up.
